Ara Gureghian, a 67-year-old man from Naples, Florida, rescued his dog Spirit a day before the abused Pit Bull mix was scheduled to be euthanized. However Spirit had no idea how much his life would change.
After losing both his wife and son, Ara decided he and Spirit needed to go on a trip. Ara left his life as a trained chef and covered 300,000 miles on his motorcycle, with spirit by his side.
“Spirit has become my life as I know it, vice versa is also true. We are one now. He is quite the rider in his own sidecar and such a ham when wearing his goggles and helmet.”
Mostly covering North and South America, the pair braved storms and other bad weather. Nothing can stop them.
“Without sounding like a cliché, every day is memorable. We live in the moment. Something I have learned from Spirit. Yet, incredible landscapes are a bit more memorable especially when we were in Southern Utah or Northern Montana.”
The pair see no end in sight. They are on a life adventure and will continue to travel around the world – maybe even overseas. Regardless, Ara will have Spirit by his side.
