A Goodwill store received a surprising donation in the parking lot. A cardboard box tightly sealed with tape had the words “Stuffed Animals” marked over it, but what was inside shook everyone up.
Three neglected puppies were inside. Aged at around 10 weeks old, the puppies had no food, water and almost no air. The urine soaked box got so hot that the puppies had to be treated for heat exhaustion.
If it wasn’t for a woman who saw the box moving and tore a hole in the top, the puppies might not have made it. To make matters worse, after being examined by veterinarian staff the dogs appeared to have been neglected even before their Goodwill ordeal.
The Chattanooga, Tennessee area vet clinic, McKamey Animal Center have taken in the puppies to recuperate. They are offering a reward for anyone with information on the puppies and are asking people e-mail their tips to jml (at) mckameyanimalcenter.org
