On May 15-17th you can find out just how smart your pooch really is with Nat Geo Wild’s, three part series, “Is Your Dog A Genius?”
The show will put dogs through a number of exercises to determine, which areas they excel in and which they don’t. The test is called, The Dognition Assessment, and it was created as a means to measure a dog’s level of communication, cunning, empathy, memory and reasoning. The assessment is composed of 20 different games and upon completion the dog will be dubbed an Ace, Charmer, Socialite, Expert, Renaissance Dog, Protodog, Einstein, Maverick or Stargazer.
Every type of dog is intelligent in its own way so this tests just helps to inform you about the type of dog you have. For example, if your dog is a Renaissance Dog then it is a jack of all trades who is good at a little bit of everything and is bonded and attentive.
The host of the show, Brian Hare helped to create the Dognition Assessment and says a dog’s intelligence isn’t measured like a man’s with an IQ test but rather through a series of hands-on exercises.
Is your dog a genius? You’ll have to watch to find out or you can buy the list of games from the dognition site (www.dognition.com) for $19.
