A crafty canine in Wales went on a lone adventure this week when he ran away from his owner during a football match.
9-year-old Murphy – who is the football club’s mascot – then made his way to a local train station, before hopping aboard. Passengers watched in amused bewilderment as the contented pooch enjoyed his solo journey, and a few uploaded pictures of him to Twitter before alerting staff of a lost dog.
Fortunately, a train conductor named Colette took Murphy home with her and looked after him until his owners, Bill O’Hagan and family, could finally be located.
Bill O’Hagan’s son Rory said:
“Murphy comes to watch the football every week and normally is well behaved, but he managed to get loose and somehow boarded the train to Llandudno Junction. We were very relieved to have got him back. We’ve had him since he was a pup.”
