Battersea Dogs & Cats Home in the UK has just unleashed a new campaign to help find even more pets new homes. The campaign is called “Looking For You” and has already taken off on social media using the hashtag #LookingForYou. The ads feature Barley, a sweet rescue pup who already found his forever home, but was very happy to be the face of the campaign. On the first day it launched, volunteers with the organization handed out pamphlets to unsuspecting shoppers at the Westfield shopping mall in Stratford, London. What these people didn’t know is that the booklet contained a RFID chip that activated videos of Barley on digital billboards as they walked around the mall.

People were definitely confused, as it seemed as though Barley was directly interacting with them every step of the way. OgilvyOne UK was behind the technology used for the campaign and wanted to simulate the idea of how a homeless dog might follow you around, hoping you will take it home. Framestore, the studio responsible for the recent blockbuster hits Paddington and Gravity, brought Barley to life for the project. Battersea managed to find homes for almost 3,000 dogs last year alone, and are hoping to do even better this year thanks to the campaign.
