ATLANTA — A homeless dog living on the streets of Istanbul, Turkey, finally gotten his happy-ending after travelling 5000 miles to find a home. The Golden Retriever named Hero was a street dog struggling to survive on the bare necessities when he was rescued. An organization from the U.S. called Adopt A Golden Atlanta brought Hero over to Atlanta with a group of 34 other Golden Retrievers who are now looking for a home.
Hero’s whole life has been a series of trials, as the dog was born with a deformed elbow and a crooked front leg that required surgery. After receiving three unsuccessful surgeries in Turkey, the resilient dog is still facing another one in Atlanta. Fortunately, Hero now has a home to call his own after wining over the hearts of Atlanta residents Chuck and Lisa Taylor. The Taylors met Hero at an adoption day held by Adopt A Golden and instantly fell in love with him. The dog, who suffered from a timid demeanour his whole life and never let people touch him, changed his tune the minute he met the Taylors.
The 1-year-old dog rolled right over when he saw the Taylors and let them rub his belly. It was truly a match made in heaven and Hero is now happily living in his forever home. Hero lives in Atlanta with the Taylors and their one-eyed Golden Retriever. Watch Hero’s sweet story in the video below.
