Bolihna is a 13-year-old stray dog in Brazil who, by the time he reached his senior years, was morbidly obese. For most of his life, he was living outside a gas station cafe where he was fed food scraps from employees and motorists.

All that greasy food did him no good and at 80 pounds, Bolinha had breathing issues and was nearly immobile. Most of the town didn’t pay attention to him, until one hero changed everything. The rescuer found him amidst piles of garbage and debris and brought him to the Animal Protection Organization.
The dog started losing weight and in less than a year he lost 30 pounds and is well on his way to a healthy goal weight. His food intake was greatly reduced but what he lost in food he gained in cuddles and kisses.
