On March 7, the 2015 Iditarod will kick off in Anchorage Alaska. Lachlan and Linda clark are racing for their 9th time. However, this race will hold special meaning for them. Their sled will carry the names of 25 fallen Marines of Darkhorse 3/5, all of whom were killed in Afghanistan during one of the fiercest periods of battle from 2010-2011 in the Sangin District of the Helmand Province, which is a Taliban stronghold. For the last 9 months they have lived beside Christopher Dale, a 3/5 Marine who returned home from the same battle area. Chris was hired as a Handler for the 2015 Iditarod team, but in doing so, Chris has found solace and has begun to heal. Team Clarke and it’s supporters are honoring the brave men Chris fought beside and especially those who did not return.
March 13th is K9 Veterans day. In honor of this special day we will be awarding the K9 Veterans Victory award to the most inspiring K9 story of 2014. Vote here for the story that most inspires you: http://3md.co/K9VerteransVictoryAward
