On March 10, 2015 a German Shepherd wandered off into in the Curavacas mountains of Spain. People could hear the dog in the town but no one could find him.
Then on March 15, 2015, a group of experienced mountain climbers set off to find the dog. Bad weather made the rescue unsafe, but after several hours of hiking through ice, snow and wind, the climbers found the very tired and starving dog.
They put the dog on a leash, gave him food and then they had to trek to the top of the mountain in order to access a safe road back to town. The dog was quickly reunited with his owner and is recovering nicely.
