Back in January, A.D.O.R.E. Houston received a very distressing call about a dog “with no face” wandering the streets. What they found, was both unbelievable and horrific.
The dog, which they named Apollo, was discovered next to a dead dog believed to be his best friend. His nose and snout were entirely missing and what was left was severely infected, and strips of flesh hung from his face. It was a miracle this poor dog was still surviving in such a condition.
After a large social media campaign and help from all over the world in thousands of dollars of donations, Apollo would get his face back.
The veterinarians at A.D.O.R.E. were able to almost completely restore Apollo’s snout! He does not have a nose, but his sense of smell is still very much intact.
Check out his brand new face!
Apollo is a sweet and loving dog, and currently in his foster home waiting to be adopted by a loving family. To inquire, contact A.D.O.R.E. Houston on their site, Facebook or email at info@adorehouston.org.
