Binky a 6 year old Basset Hound in Bloomington, Indiana has been a loving member of the Roland family since he was a puppy. Recently it was revealed to Binky that despite his constant plea for food, he actually wasn’t starving at all.
Regardless of years and years of begging at the dinner table and at family parties, Binky never really realized that he was actually well fed.
I’d just stare at them as they ate. I felt invisible. Why couldn’t they see me? Why wouldn’t they feed me more food after I ate dinner? Why?
At a recent vet appointment it was revealed that Binky was actually one pound overweight. Puzzled, Binky did not understand how a dog who was always starving could be overweight – that’s when Binky got the news: he was not starving at all.
The vet talked with Binky about a low cookie diet including swapping out his bacon treats for carrot sticks and apple slices. After a long chat, Binky revealed his hunger often stemmed from the lack of attention he felt he received from his family.
