When firefighters in Pennsylvania were too big to rescue a kitten from a drain pipe, a six-year old girl came in to save the day. Janeysha Cruz was playing with her friends Tuesday afternoon, when they spotted a kitten trapped underground. Upon seeing the frightened feline, the girl immediately notified her mother who called 911.
Once the firefighters arrived on the scene, they quickly realized they were all too large to lower themselves down into the pipe where the kitten was trapped. Janeysha’s mother then gave them permission to lower her daughter into the storm pipe who was just the right size to fit. The brave little girl was able to coax the kitten into coming to her and was brought back up to safety with the kitten in hand.
Janeysha handed the kitten over to the Lancaster Township Fire Department who took the little fur-baby to an animal shelter for evaluation. The kitten is said to be doing just fine and will soon be up for adoption. As for Janeysha, hero’s really do come in all shapes and sizes.
