Alex Cearns, Australia’s leading animal photographer, has released Zen Dogs, a delightful series featuring pet dogs in a seemingly relaxed, zen-like state, eyes closed and sitting comfortably.
Alex photographs over 800 dogs a year. Back in 2013, she accidentally captured a shot of Suzi, a Sharpei, mid-blink. After noticing how content and at peace Suzi looked, Alex dubbed the photo ‘Zen Dog’, and decided to keep it. Since then, she has learned to carefully predict the dogs’ blinking patterns and snaps at just the right moment.
The series so far is a hit, check it out below!
Any animal lover knows that dogs are carefree, fun-loving, and always give everything their all; even relaxing. Alex hopes that her photo series reminds those of us with hectic busy lives, that it is always important to take a minute to close your eyes… and simply be zen.
