COMPTON, Calif. — Wonton and his puppies Noodle, Macaroni and Ravioli, were recently rescued by Hope for Paws in Compton, California. They were found living on a steel construction site.
In a video, we see Hope for Paws co-founder Eldad Hagar and volunteer Lisa Arturo doing the best they can to safely capture them. It turns out Dad was taking care of the puppies the entire time! Hagar posted on Facebook.
“This story is so unique because the mom was never seen by the people who fed this family and called us for help. It is so unusual in the dog world, but the dad, Wonton, stayed with his babies and took care of them. He is the most patient dad I have ever seen… he loves his kids so much!!!,”
At first the puppies are quite scared and skittish. The first puppy was very frightened and cried as he was leashed. Hagar thinks that this was the first time the puppies had come into human contact. The second and third puppies are a little bit easier to catch – although one of them managed to tuck itself into a tight space under some lumber!
In no time the puppies warmed up to the team and all be been bathed and checked out by a local veterinarian. By the end of the video the puppies are full of wiggly tails and kisses.

Good work Wonton!
