In February, Nicky suffered multiple cuts in his face and body after he was attacked by a suspect. He was out of duty recovering from his wounds for almost a month. On March 8th he returned to his job, so it’s even sadder that he survived such an attack just to get killed a month later.
The funeral was kept private but all the members of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department were there to pay a tribute to Nicky. The K9s “bark of honor” consisted of the dogs barking loud while standing with their handlers in front of Nicky’s coffin. May he rest in peace.
