A dog in Japan, named Inuyama Shibao, has recently become an internet sensation on Youtube, for wearing a suit and pretending to read the news on Japanese television. The adorable news anchor is a Shiba Inu, an ancient breed native to Japan.
Some adoring viewers describe the dog as ‘the best news anchor’ ever.
The dog is quickly gaining fans and viewers, with his cute face and suit, which he wears as part of a series of infomercials being aired in Japan, for Seven Bank. Throughout the videos the dog can be seen taking naps and yawning, and wrestling with his legs making for an even more lovable newscast. In the print advertisements Inyama can be seen posing at a desk while he wears a smart suit and stylish red and green tie.
The hilarious clips currently have over 70,000 hits on Youtube and have received lots of praise from viewers.
One Youtube user wrote, “The best news anchor I’ve ever seen.”
The illusion of Inuyama as a professional news anchor, is shattered when he begins to play with toys, licks his notes, wrestles with his legs, stands on his desk and falls asleep with his paws in the air, it’s cuteness overload.
Youtube users note the similarity between Inuyama and the popular internet meme, ‘Doge’. Fans are referring to the commonly used meme, ‘Doge’ which is a slang word for dog and is associated with pictures of Shiba Inu’s online.
Most dogs would be happy with a simple walk and some treats, but Inuyama seems to be enjoying his recent television and internet success, and no wonder, it doesn’t look like his employers are working him too hard.
The Shiba Inu is one of the few ancient dog breeds still in existence in the world today.
