This is the age where humans can order anything from anywhere with the tap of a few buttons. We can hail cabs, order food, purchase clothing, track our heart beat, set up online dates – the list goes on and on.
For all those dog owners who have busy schedules and are in need of a dog walker when those last minute meetings come up, Wag has the app for you.
Wag is a new on-demand start-up that wants to connect dogs walkers and dog owners. They have officially launched in San Francisco and have big plans of launching in 10 cities across the USA over the next 10 months.
Each 30 minute walk scheduled through the Wag app costs $20 to which Wag takes a 40% cut, which is said to be a market standard. Dog owners can schedule the walks through the app, track their dog while on their walk and the walkers will have had background checks before they can dog walk for Wag. Each walk is currently one-on-one but Wag hopes to expand to group walks – which could lead to lower prices.
Their website states that their app should “make dog ownership easier, which in turn should raise adoption rates.”
Seeing as 95% of Wag’s user base has never used a dog walker before, this shows that this business definitely has room to grow and expand.
Currently Wag is donating $0.10 of every mile to Best Friends Animal Society.
