81 Seals descended on Osama Bin Laden’s compound on May the 2nd 2011, known as SEAL Team Six.
Only one name was released, Cairo the dog, a Belgian Malinois.
Just like regular SEALs, Cairo is able to perform incredible military missions from sea, air or land (SEAL). Many times, a dog with a camera on the back and an ear piece will enter a danger zone before humans. The camera on the back allows the humans to see what the dog sees and the earpiece allows the handler to relay commands to the dog at very low volumes.
What do Cairo and Navy SEAL team dogs wear?
The dogs are also equipped with ultra-strong and flexible body armor to protect them from assaults on their midriff and heat vision goggles. Heat vision goggles that can see human forms through concrete.
Trained To Skydive, Trained As Team Members
All SEAL dogs are trained parachutists, if the jump is into water, they go solo. An airborne, heat seeking dog dropped out of a plane that’s been trained to take down terrorists. What a time to be alive!
K9 Storm Equips Dogs For Military Service
The company that makes all these doggy gadgets belongs to a mom and pop, Jim and Glori Slater, based out of Winnipeg, named K9 Storm.
Body armor for dogs might seem excessive to your average civilian pet owner. Yet these military service dogs have been so effective that the Taliban had actually put bounties on some military dogs.
Dog Breeds Like Cairo In The American Military
German Shepherds and Belgian Malinois are the primary dogs of the American military, but Belgian Malinois are slightly lighter and have a shorter length, making them more suited to parachuting and rappelling operations.
