As it turns out, South Korea isn’t only about dog-killing.
Although we’ve covered a lot of stories about dogs being rescued from dog-meat eating festivals, the country is also home to this fantastic dog-friendly guesthouse. Built in the province of Chungcheongnam, the residence features doors decorated with canine illustrations and a sloping playground overlooking the rural landscape.
The guesthouse was designed by Seoul studio Design Band YAOP for a family with a troop of pet dogs. The architects devised a timber-framed residence for the site and split it into three parts to provide separate quarters for the couple and guests.
It is all decked out in dog-related touches. Illustrations of different dog breeds mark the doors of the four individual guest suites. There are also floor-to-ceiling windows decorated with kennel-shaped outlines and wooden fencing with only vertical fence posts to prevent canine guests from escaping. Also, in each of the suites and kitchen, there are tiles and laminated floors to ensure paw-prints can be easily cleaned.
It will definitely make for one dogtastic stay!
