No matter how old some events are, they can always come back to remind us of something we shouldn’t forget. Like this story that happened 7 years ago but it can still show us bravery, compassion and friendship between dogs.
It was 2008 in Santiago, Chile. A dog was hit by a car in the highway Vespucio Norte, one of the busiest ones in the city. The cars kept driving fast next to the injured dog who was just lying on the highway until another dog spotted him and went to help him.
In the video you’ll see this dog running between cars until he reaches the injured dog and slowly starts pulling him out of the busy highway. He used his front paws to drag him and from time to time, you’ll even see him checking around for the cars, so he can keep on going. Eventually he reaches the side of the road and some workers go to help them.
This video was recorded by the surveillance cameras and eventually uploaded on YouTube where it went viral. A lot of people called the operation manager of the highway inquiring about the hero dog offering to adopt him. Unfortunately he was never spotted again. Regarding the injured dog, Chilean news reported he died—even though this video claims he survived. We may never know for sure, but we can always remember the beautiful act of bravery of a dog risking his life for another one.
