A pit bull ambassador from San Francisco, California has made quite the scene. And not in the way you’d think!
Jason Saola walks his dogs Orange Juice and Psycho through the streets of downtown daily. What’s different about these ventures is what can be seen on the dogs’ faces.
That’s right, sunglasses! Orange Juice and Psycho sport these snazzy shades made just for pups on their walks around town, bringing smiles and laughter to onlookers.
“I love the reaction when people come up to me,” said Saola. “Sometimes it’s the first time they’ve seen dogs in sunglasses.”
Saola began dressing his 3-year-old bullies in shades to prove to the general public that pit bull type dogs are not as scary as the media leads on.
“Pit bulls have a bad reputation. I’m trying to get people to look at them differently.”
His plan sure seems to be working!

Most animal shelters consider bully breeds to be “at risk”, due to the unfortunate stigma that they are “dangerous dogs.” Though anyone with animal experience can’t be fooled by the media, Breed Specific Legislation takes a toll on the dogs and their daily life. Stories like these help spread the truth about pit bulls and just how love-a-bull they really are!
