Christmas is upon us once again!
It’s time to spend a wonderful day with our friends and families as we feast on some epic meals. Of course, our four-legged friends are invited! As delicious as the food is, there are many items on the menu that can be quite dangerous for your dog. Here is a list of common Christmas Dinner ingredients that you should keep out of reach of your pups.
Bones
Bones can shatter, cause choking or even worse. It’s best to just keep all bones out of reach of your favorite furry friends.
Raw turkey
Your dog can catch salmonella, just like we can.
Turkey skin
As much as we love turkey skin and gravy, they are just too fatty and rich for your dog’s digestive system. Its end result could be pancreatitis. Opt for cooked, unseasoned turkey as a delicious treat.
Dough or cake batter
Raw dough can actually start to rise in their stomachs causing painful bloating and even vomiting. Cake batter contains raw eggs and can also cause salmonella.

Macadamia nuts
These nuts are especially bad for dogs. They can cause called macadamia nut toxicosis which leads to lethargy, vomiting and trouble standing up.
Mushrooms
Even though they can be very delicious for us, mushrooms are dangerous for our pups. If a dog ingests fungi they can suffer from vomiting, seizures, and even death.
Onions and garlic
As much as we humans love onion and garlic, they contain sulfides which are toxic to our dogs. Sulfides destroy red blood cells and can cause anemia.

Be sure to keep these spices safely away from your dog as they are both dangerous. Sage contains resin and oils that can cause severe stomach upset and wreak havoc on their central nervous system. Nutmeg has mild hallucinogenic that can cause seizures.
