Lovey, a 5-year-old mixed breed found on the streets of Houston, Texas, has finally received some much-needed medical attention. At some point in time, Lovey was shot twice –once in her front leg, and once in the rear. She managed to get around with only two working limbs before being picked up by the local pound.
Lovey was taken in by RED Collar Rescue, and treated by Dr. Mike Huddleston at the Westheimer Animal Clinic Bellaire. Unfortunately, her hind leg was damaged beyond repair, and had to be amputated. Her front leg has healed, but is twisted, causing Lovey to walk a little slower.
Despite Lovey’s unfortunate journey, she has maintained a sweet disposition, living up to her name. All she needs now is a forever home!
RED Collar Rescue wrote a note to future adopters on Lovey’s behalf:
” I’m looking for a very special forever home who will love me as much as I love them! I can’t run fast or play rough so a quieter home would be best for me. I’m fine with other dogs too as long as they are as gentle as I am! I’m a little shy with strangers but warm up quickly and will follow you around with my tail wagging!”
