Nylabone, a very popular dog treat manufacturer, has been forced to recall their Puppy Starter Kit treat package due to a potential Salmonella contamination.
The specific product comes in a 1.69oz package with Lot #21935, UPC code 0-18214-81291-3. You can find these numbers on the back of the package. The product also has an expiry date of 3/22/18.
As of this time there have been no reports of any sick dogs.
The symptoms of Salmonella in dogs includes lethargy, fever, regular and bloody diarrhea, vomiting and abdominal pain. If you are concerned that your dog may have been infected, please call your veterinarian immediately. Dogs that are infected yet show no symptoms are still carriers and can infect other dogs and humans.
Consumers should discontinue use of this product immediately and return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.
