LOS ANGELES — On Sunday’s episode of the Stewarts & Hamiltons, singer Rod Stewart’s son Sean had something in his eyes that was bothering him.
So after a visit to his eye doctor with his mother Alana, he found out he had contracted toxoplasmosis, an eye disease he got after letting his rescue dog Duke lick him all over the face at a recent birthday party he threw for the pampered pooch. Toxoplasmosis is an infection caused by a parasite usually found in undercooked meat or cat feces.

Duke is one lucky pup with an owner who loves him. But the 34-year-old Stewart developed problematic eyes after he threw that birthday party. He’ll need to take eye drops to get his eyes back to normal.
Ironically, at Duke’s birthday party, Stewart proclaimed the pup was cleaner than the average human. This recent diagnosis might have him rethinking that statement.
Stewart rescued the dog from a dog fighting ring and the two have been inseparable since. Stewart, who is a recovering addict and served a three month prison sentence after a bar fight, has an obvious soft spot for the sweet dog.
After his visit with the eye doctor, Stewart came up with a way to let his dog still give him kisses, by using a dental dam placed over his mouth.
The Stewarts and Hamiltons is a funny reality television series follows the lives of Alana Stewart, Rod Stewart’s ex, and George Hamilton, along with all their children.
