Jessie’s story is nothing shy of a tragedy. This young Mastiff mix was found in the woods, seemingly paralyzed, dragging herself across the ground. With her paws twisted, and tail inhumanely hacked off, Jessie was left for dead. That is, until a Long Island bulldog rescue, New York Bully Crew, was notified.
Jessie was immediately rushed to the veterinarian, where they determined that the trauma to her tail was not the cause of her back issues. With a clean blood test, the Crew scheduled a specialty appointment with a neurologist for later this week.
Until then, the rescue group is working on rehabilitating Jessie through physical therapy, and walking with the help of a sling. The young pup is now able to sit upright, and even took her first steps not too long ago!
Despite the horrors of her past, Jessie has remained a sweet girl, showing great signs of strength and resilience. There has also been an incredible outpour of support for the New York Bully Crew, with dozens of sponsors and donations towards Jessie’s recovery.
We are all sending Jessie, and her heroes at New York Bully Crew, all the love and support possible.
