SANDY SPRINGS, Ga. — This past weekend, a 4-month-old Yorkshire Terrier was brought into the Fulton County Animal Shelter. He had been attacked with acid and has life threatening burns all over his body.

There have been four other dogs that have been attacked with acid in the area and animal control are trying to determine if the attacks are related.
A statement released by the Atlanta Humane Society says this attack has left them “deeply saddened and sickened.” They are offering a $10,000 reward for anyone who can help them find the criminal.
For now, the Georgia Veterinary Specialists in Sandy Springs have been working on keeping Mason’s wounds clean. Because of the severity of his burns, he is at high risk for infection and may also become blind. He has been in stable condition since the attack.
“I think we’re seeing some improvement. The wounds are clipped and clean. We put him on pain medications so I think he’s more comfortable. His condition is stable,” said specialist Chris Piscatelli.
Because Mason will require long-term care, LifeLine Animal Project will be taking care of his medical bills. They are currently accepting donations through PayPal or their website. You can find out more by visiting their page.
If you have any information, please call the Fulton County Animal Services at 404-613-2163.
We hope Mason makes a full recovery and his attacker is brought to justice!
