Splash the 12-week-old puppy went missing from his family’s front porch in Flint, Michigan. His owners, Jenny and Angelo Ferranti had a suspicion about who had taken him, but when they questioned them, they denied knowing anything about it. By the time the police and animal control were able to respond to the situation, Splash was gone. The Ferranti’s never gave up on finding him, however, and at one point, Jenny even saw an ad selling him on craigslist. She called to “buy” him, but was too late.
Poor Splash had at least four different owners throughout the 8 months he was missing from the Ferranti’s, but his luck finally changed when he wound up in the hands of the rescue organization Pound Buddies in Muskegon, Michigan, nearly 150 miles away from Flint. Jenny had made sure Splash was microchipped, so Lana Carson, the director of Pound Buddies, was able to connect him back to the Ferranti’s. She called to deliver the good news and arranged for him to be driven back home. He arrived to the welcome arms of his humans and his canine brothers and sisters. He fit right back into his pack and was soon playing happily. See adorable photos of their reunion here:
