Forty dogs have disappeared from Wise County, Texas, prompting serious concerns from residents about their dog’s well being.
The dogs started disappearing in November being taken right from residents backyards. No trace of the missing dogs have been found. So what could be causing all these dogs to disappear?
This black lab is one of the dogs who went missing in the last two months.
Aliens? A serial dog killer? Locals can only speculate, but one strong theory is a new trend called “pet flipping.” Thieves steal dogs to re-sell to the public, transporting them to different districts and states. If the dogs are unfixed they may be used to breed and sell puppies to the public.
Another possible theory is that the dogs are being used as fight dogs and bait dogs – but considering the variation of breeds that have been stolen it seems unlikely.
Residents are being advised to keep a close eye on their dogs.
