Dogs sometimes have a hard time restraining themselves. Maybe it’s the puppy dog eyes, maybe it’s the whining. Whatever the case may be, as a dog owner it’s hard to say no. One treat turns into two turns into three and before you know it, the whole package is gone.
That’s were calorie-counting apps come to the rescue. The Pedigree Tracks app tells pet owners how much food their dogs should get. By entering your dog’s age, breed and size, the app automatically creates a specifically tailored calorie-controlled menu.
The app couldn’t have come at a better time. A recent study from the University of Nottingham claims more than half of U.K.’s dogs are overweight. The issue seems to be overfeeding, with 44 per cent of dog owners not using any feeding guidelines and another 13 per cent filling their dog’s bowl whenever it seems hungry.
Another app that can curb your dog’s appetite is DogSync, which keeps track of your canine’s meals through a task manager that designates walking, feeding and even bathroom duties.
Would you use an app to keep your dog’s weight in check?
