You may know Brandon Stanton as the tall charismatic photographer of the wildly popular photo series “Humans Of New York”. What you might not know about Stanton, is that he loves helping dogs.
Thanks to his girlfriend Erin O’Sullivan, the two started a project called Susie’s Senior Dogs, promoting adoption of senior dogs in desperate situations. You can read more about the rescue here.

On May 25th, Stanton was walking around Harlem, no doubt taking photos for his project, when he noticed a man with an 8 month old blue Pit Bull puppy.
Upon further enquiry, the man with the puppy was trying to give the puppy away to anyone who would take it. Pit Bull’s are prime target to be sold in dog fighting and the puppy was facing a very uncertain future.
Stanton, texted O’Sullivan: “He’s trying to get rid of him, I don’t know what to do?”
Without question O’Sullivan texted back: “Take the puppy. We can find him a home.”
And so Blue arrived at their apartment, puppy in hand. Their two senior dogs, Susie and Simon, don’t seem to be bothered by the puppy but they are looking to find the aptly named dog the perfect home.
“Blue is an amazing pit bull who has already proved his high level of intelligence, his extraordinary cuddle skills, and his ultra affectionate nature. He is a natural born lover and we can’t wait for him to join the best family ever! Forever!”
