OKLAHOMA CITY — About three weeks ago, a Border Collie showed up in a local neighborhood. He was friendly, but no one knew if he had a home. Neighbors on the block started feeding him and he stuck around. The kids liked to play with him and some adults noted how he was very watchful of them. Last Thursday, he proved his loyalty when one of the little girls stepped off the curb just as a truck was speeding down the road.

The brave pup immediately jumped in front of her, pushing her out of the way and was hit by the truck himself. Two adults witnessed the incident and called for help. The little girl was unharmed but the dog was taken to Oklahoma City Animal Welfare, where he was found to have a fractured leg.
The staff immediately fell in love with him and his bravery and named him Angel, for protecting the children. One of the staffers loved him so much that she has adopted him. A local veterinarian will be taking care of Angel’s surgery and now, he can heal in a loving home. Congrats to you and your new mom, Angel, and thank you for being a true guardian angel!
