KANSAS CITY, Mo. — We first reported on Harry, a Chow Chow mix, last week and he was one of the worst neglect cases seen, needing to have five pounds of matted fur shaved off for starters. At the time, not many details about him were known, but it turns out that Harry had been found chained up in a backyard without any food or water. Apparently, a couple of complaints had been filed against the owner, so Animal Control went to get him.
After a few weeks, it’s amazing what a little bit of love and care has done for him. Harry is living with a foster family, finally putting some weight back on, playing with other dogs, and taking frequent naps on the sofa (his favorite place). Harry does still have vision problems from his eyelashes scratching his corneas and is missing most of his nose, but he’s still very much open to the idea of love. He may be a little bit startled at first, but he warms up to people very quickly and everyone at KC Pet Project pretty much fell in love with him and are very happy that he’s getting some spoiling and love.
The rescue continues to accept donations forHarry’s case, with any extra funds going towards other animals that need help. Contributions can be made through their website KC Pet Project. We at 3MD are also thrilled that Harry is doing so much better!
