LOS ANGELES— Hope For Paws is an amazing rescue group operating in the Los Angeles area. They describe themselves as an “ALL Animal Rescue Organization” and it was founded by Eldad and Audrey Hagar. One of their most recent rescues is now in search of his perfect forever home.

Rudolph was a homeless, injured senior dog, living on the streets, off the 710 Freeway in L.A. He did not trust humans at all, but luckily the freeway noise enabled the rescue group to sneak up on him while he was sleeping, so they could get him to a safer place. He was frightened at first, but, as you can see in the video below, he warmed up to them quickly.

During the past few months Rudy has come a very long way! While he used to be “extremely fearful of humans and in fact preferred to hide or flee from us, over time he has learned to trust us and now knows he’s in loving hands.”

“Rudy has attended therapy twice weekly at Tsavo’s  Canine Rehabilitation Center and has received all types of rehabilitation services to improve his muscle strength, pain, and mobility. He has received acupuncture, massage and adjustments, water therapy, cold laser therapy, and tPEMF therapy,” Oliver reports. “He will always have mobility issues due to the degenerative joint disease in his front elbows and rear back left leg that likely went untreated for most of his life.”

As for his temperament, Oliver says that, “Rudy is content lounging around with other doggy friends, leading a quiet life, taking short walks, and having a place he can call home. He is so easy going and requires very little, likely from having to rough it most of his life.”

When asked if they had received an outpouring of adoption applications for him after Hope For Paws released his video, she says they “haven’t received many adoption applications for Rudy yet, which is OK with us. We want to make sure it’s the right family for him. Rudy is estimated to be about 10-11 years old and will always need some type of pain and arthritis medication to keep him moving. Someone with a pool or access to rehabilitation services such as water therapy or massage would be a great fit for him. In fact, his foster family does a few massage techniques daily to help keep his blood flowing to the stiffer areas of his body.”

She also added that he has had the full gamut of vet services, which includes urinalysis, dental, blood work, HW test, vaccinations and is also neutered.
