England’s Department of Health has declared the idea of pets contracting the Ebola virus a myth.
The news comes following massive outrage around the globe for Spain’s treatment of an Ebola victim’s dog, Excalibur. The dog’s owner contracted the virus while treating an Ebola victim. The dog was needlessly put down because they didn’t wait to get the facts straight.
Excellent news from England, a country who goes to great efforts to ensure pet disease remains as low as possible. People who happen to contract Ebola will be quarantined and so will their pets. This is understandable, while they have said it’s a myth the virus will infect pets, it’s probably still a good idea to be careful when dealing with one of the mosts deadly viruses we’ve ever seen.
The outrage was so large in Spain, a petition for the Health Minister to quit his job reached over 100,000 signatures.
