MCKINNEY, Tx. — A near-tragedy ended with a very heartwarming moment on Friday November 27th, when a man and his dog were rescued from rushing flood waters. The McKinney Fire Department was called to the scene by the man who was swept under the bridge with his German Shepherd by his side.
The unidentified man, managed to used his cell phone to call for help as the waters began to rise around him in the early hours of the morning. While waiting for help to arrive, the man put his dog over his shoulders and was trapped in a tree that prevented him from moving locations. The firefighters then tracked him down using the GPS on his cellphone.
When the McKinney Fire Department arrived, they pulled both the man and the dog out of the water with the use of their ladder and ropes. After a lengthy long-angle rescue, both the man and the dog were back to safety on dry land. Without even wasting a second, the dog immediately leapt at the firefighter who rescued him and gave him a big thank you kiss. The whole endearing moment was captured on camera as can be seen in the video below. Both man and dog are now doing well.
