The people at Purina even tried to set a new world record for “Most Pets in a Workplace in One Day” for RecordSetter.com as a way to really try to promote dogs in the workplace. Because they feel passionate about pups, Purina asked Mississippi State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine to conduct a workplace survey, and what did they discover? It’s no surprise to dog lovers that almost two out of 3 people surveyed agreed that pets should be allowed in the workplace if the majority of the company doesn’t mind. 85% of employees from companies that already allow pets believe it is beneficial to both the humans and the pets, to have them around. Despite that only 72% of people said their jobs currently allow them to bring their pet to work on a regular basis, and more than half of those who do want pets in the office are willing to spearhead campaigns to get their workplaces pet-friendly!
As for the record, Purina will find out in a few weeks if they successfully won the title, though since no current similar record exists the chances are high that they’ll take home the prize. All in all everyone had a great day at work…but was really ready for the weekend.
