HENDERSONVILLE, North Carolina – He is now called Noah, I guess because he is finally on dry land, but he used to be called Demo because the place where he was living was going to be demolished. His only friends back then were some construction workers that day after day, saw the misery he was living in.

It was September when he was noticed. It took 5 months, a story that went viral and lots of concerned emails to the chief of police; what this sweet dog needed to be rescued. Now he’s safe and loved at the Blue Ridge Humane Society but he is still looking for his forever home.
His story is a really great rescue story. His human went to prison and the dog was left in the care of his father, but he only gave him the basic care.
The construction workers never saw anybody feeding him or playing with him. They were the ones sharing their lunch with him, they even built him a shelter from brick and tarp. He was living in a mud pit and when it rained it was so bad that all he could do was stand of the top of his house to stay dry. When it was cold, he could just lay on the ground shivering.

Eventually his story went out and the rescue group Nadia’s Haven of Hope Foundation gave him a happy ending. He even had a foster family ready to take him home. But his temporary guardian claimed his rights and the dog was returned to his hell. Not a happy ending after all…
The story was already viral and a lot of people were outraged with his story so they kept putting pressure until the chief of police made sure the old man let the dog go and he was surrendered to the Blue Ridge Humane Society.
Noah is a black and white 4-year old Terrier and Pit Bull mix who had forgotten what love feels like (if he ever knew). But now he’s happy and he’s loved. The staff at the shelter really care for him and he’s safe there. But they are still waiting for someone to give him a home.
