My Miniature Schnauzer Simba loves lots of things, but there are six things that I’ve noticed that he loves a lot! I even wonder why he loves some of the things that he does, but others are pretty obvious. I’m sure other dogs probably love these things too. Keep reading to find out the things that my dog can’t get enough of!
1. Belly Rubs
I think my dog’s favorite thing ever in life is belly rubs! He loves getting them because he loves the feeling of someone rubbing his belly. He can’t get enough of them and if he could talk I think it’s the first thing that he’d ask for. Since he can’t talk of course he usually asks for belly rubs by using his body. He will roll over on his back and just stare as if he is saying “belly rub please, what are ya waiting for!?” It’s too cute. It looks like he’s smiling when he gets them and he will just lie there forever if you continue to rub his belly. It’s like he’s in heaven and he’ll even drift off to sleep if you rub his belly long enough. Such a baby!
2. Playing With the Little One
Watching a kid and a dog grow up together is one of the most adorable things. My dog and the little one do everything together. Simba enjoys having someone that’s his size so to speak and she really is his sister. He loves her and she loves him. If she’s doing something he wants to do it with her and vice versa. If he sees something, she has to see it too. If she is playing with something or even coloring he wants some kind of part in it even if it’s just to touch the paper! They are the perfect team.
Check out a video of them here: http://youtu.be/k6sqGDVH0us They are a hoot!
3. My Socks
Do you have a sock bandit in your house? I do! Simba loves to take all of our socks…we find them everywhere! Ever wonder why your dog always steals your socks or any of your other clothing? He loves you dearly that’s why! Dogs are awesome sniffers and he loves your scent! If you aren’t there with him he still has a little piece of you around. So the next time you think that the washing machine ate your other sock think twice! Your dog probably has it stashed away somewhere.
Dogs love affection and mine is no different when it comes to that. He loves to cuddle. He loves cuddling with everyone he knows so he’s very loving and he’s very lovable as well! He loves hard and he wants to be loved hard right back so he cuddles to show his affection and probably because it’s just a comfortable spot to be. He will cuddle with me any and everywhere. Dogs really are a girl’s best friend!
5. Treats, Treats, and MORE TREATS!
What dog doesn’t love treats? He loves treats because they are yummy! Simba knows when he’s going to get a treat most of the time because I use treats as positive reinforcement. If he rings the bells on the door to let me know he has to go outside to potty he will get a treat and he’ll also get one if he actually does his business. Once he does his business he comes back inside and heads directly over to where I have all of the goodies stashed! Did you know that you can give your dog veggies such as carrots or green beans for a treat? Beware, dogs can’t eat all veggies or other things that you might want to give as a treat. Never give a dog chocolate or grapes! Click here for more information about healthy treats and things not to give your dog. Also check with your vet.
6. Follow Me Everywhere and I mean EVERYWHERE
My dog loves to be everywhere that I am. He follows me around because he loves to be around me of course. He follows me wherever I go in my house. He even follows me to the bathroom. Yes, he will follow me to the bathroom and make himself comfortable on the bathroom rug. If I don’t let him in the bathroom with me and I close the door he will make himself comfortable right at the door and wait for me. He even put his paws under the door a couple of times practically begging me to let him in for God’s sake! I love that he follows me around though because it shows how much he cares and enjoys my company.
