ORLANDO, FLA. – A Pizza delivery man is being hailed a hero by Orange County Animal Services after he tipped them off to save a puppies life. The man was on duty delivering pizza to a home in Florida when he noticed an injured puppy inside. After noticing the 3-month-old pup was injured and left untreated he knew he had to call someone for help. Without hesitation the man reported the case of animal abuse to animal services.
Fortunately, animal services was able to get in touch with the owner and he surrendered the puppy over to them. According to the owner, the pup sustained the injury from another dog in the neighbourhood but an investigation is still pending to determine the scale of abuse. Either way not treating an injured dog is a sign of neglect.
Animal services has now fittingly renamed the pup, Pupperoni as a token of appreciation to the pizza delivery man that saved his life. The puppy is now recovering at the shelter for a few weeks before being put up for adoption. Due to his injuries being left untreated, Pupperoni may now lose one of his legs. This incident acts as an important reminder to speak up when you witness an animal being neglected or abused.
