Looking to add a furry four-legged member to your family this holiday season? Well, you are in luck as there’s almost surely a pup available at a shelter or rescue near you who can’t wait to be your best buddy.
While dog adoption centers are often thought of as having lots of pit bulls and chihuahuas (which are great!), shelters often have a wide variety of future pets, yound and old, to check out. And if you have a breed in mind, there are many of breed-specific rescue organizations out there catering to just about every type of dog.
Adoption is a great option. Not only are you saving a pup’s life, but these dogs (and cats) come spayed or neutered, are up-to-date on all their shots and are often micro-chipped, among other perks.
Enough rambling – let’s check out a sampling of some of the awesome dogs out there who are looking for new digs this holiday season!
Cooper is a seven year old Basset Hound mix from the Oregon Humane Society. Cooper loves playing games and getting exercise. He would do best in an adult only home with no other pets.
Tabitha is an adorable three month old pit bull that hails from New York City. Since she is a puppy she will need lots of training to learn how to behave like a lady. She currently resides at Animal Haven and can’t wait for a forever home!
