A dog can bring so much joy in a person’s life. I’m sure bringing my dog Simba in my life over a year ago made me 10 times happier instantly! Maybe it’s just because I’m a dog lover or maybe just maybe dogs just has that effect on people because they love unconditionally. My dog ALWAYS makes me smile and he does it with ease. Below are 4 things that my dog does to make me smile. Of course he does even more to make me smile, but I don’t want to go on and on about how awesome my dog is at making me smile 🙂
1. HE ALWAYS GREETS ME AT THE DOOR WAGGING HIS TAIL!
Whenever I leave to go to work and come home after a long day, Simba always comes running to the door wagging his tail to greet me. It’s as if he’s saying “Finally, you’re home! Where have you been all my life!?” each and every time. He can’t wait for me to rub him and to speak to him. I love it! It makes me feel super special. My dog greeting me at the door is one of the warmest welcomes I’ve ever received.
2. He’s ALWAYS happy!
My dog is ALWAYS happy. I don’t think he ever has a bad day…except when he hears my “NO, NO, NO” voice for doing something he’s not supposed to, but that only lasts a second and he’s back to being his happy self! He absolutely has no worries and enjoys life to the fullest. This makes me smile because he reminds me to enjoy life and to take a moment from my busy day to day life and all the stress that comes with it at times and just SMILE!
3. He makes me smile when I’ve had a bad day!
If I have a bad day my dog knows just how to cheer me up. It’s as if he knows I’ve had a bad day and he wants me to cheer up. I suppose he can sense that something is wrong and he wants to make it better. He’ll come cuddle with me and just be all extra cute so I can’t help but smile at that right?
4. He “talks” to me!
Ok, so he doesn’t actually TALK to me, but he does things that makes me understand him and get my attention which is ALMOST like him actually talking to me. For example, if I start rubbing his head, that’s cool with him and all, but he’d rather me rub his belly so he’ll roll over and lay on his back just so I can rub it. That always makes me smile and giggle. He will also put his head under my hand when he wants me to rub his head more if I stop rubbing it. He also does other things like put his paw under the door if I don’t let him go in the bathroom with me letting me know the he wants to come in. He’ll also stare me down if I’m eating something as if he’s telling me “don’t forget to share”. All of his dog language makes me smile and laugh on a regular basis.
