While there might not be any ‘scientific’ proof that dogs are the friendliest creatures around, these adorable pooches and their unlikely best pals make a pretty convincing argument…
1. Bubbles the orphan elephant
Bubbles was raised at Myrtle Beach Safari in South Carolina after her parents were killed by ivory poachers. Here, she met Bella – a puppy who had been abandoned – and they bonded over a shared love of water. Just look at them today!
2.Jag the Jaguar and Bullet the Jack Russell
When Jag the Jaguar arrived at Akwaaba Lodge in South Africa, he started to get lonely at night when his keeper couldn’t be with him. They decided to introduce him to an unlikely pal – Bullet the Jack Russell. The two hit it off and are now inseparable.
3.Kate the Great Dane and Pip the fawn
Pip the fawn got left behind when her mum got scared off by other dogs, so Isobel Springett and family decided to adopt her. Kate, their Great Dane, took her under her wing, even attempting to feed her even though she had never had pups of her own. These days they are still best friends, although Pip lives nearby with the wild deer.
4.Labrador and his dolphin pal
Tory Island Harbour in Ireland is home to another unlikely pairing who have bonded in the water, this time a local yellow lab and resident dolphin who can’t get enough of swimming and playing together!
5.Hannah the cat and her puppy
Ever heard the expression ‘at it like cat and dog’? These two seem to have missed the memo! Since she joined the family, Lacey the puppy has been adopted by Hannah the cat, and the two regularly spend their time grooming and cuddling each other. Whoever said cats and dogs don’t get along?
