LOS ANGELES — Hallmark Channel aired its first “Paw Star Game” on Sunday, two days before Major League Baseball’s annual All Star Game. The cute game is played by kittens with names like Joe DiMeowgio, Darryl Pawberry and Jose Catseco.
Similar to the Kitten Bowl, which aired in February on the same channel, the game is mostly about kittens having fun, running around and playing with each other. New York radio announcer John Sterling and sports commentator Mary Carillo call each adorable play.
There are even some celebrities who stop by, including actor Ed Asnor, newscaster Al Roker and television hosts Maria Menunos and Mario Lopez.
While the game was all in the name of fun, it also helped more than 90 kittens get adopted from two New York shelters where the show was filmed last year.
