VONORE, Tenn. — A relatively new feline breed called the, Lykoi, is starting to catch the attention of cat and dog lovers due to its unique appearance and personality. The feline is currently being bred by Johnny and Brittney Gobble, who ensure that they breed the cat for health. The Gobble husband and wife team, are one of three of the original, “foundation breeders,” who started breeding in 2010 in Vonore, Tennessee.
The Lykoi is starting to gain popularity among individuals looking for a unique feline. The breed has acquired its standout appearance from a natural mutation in a domestic shorthair, which gives the fur its werewolf-like characteristics. John Gobble reveals that the Lykoi personality is similar to a canines because, “they are extremely loyal to their owners, very scent motivated, and very intelligent.” The breed is said to be a perfect fit for any family if socialization begins at a young age and carried out properly.
