WASHINGTON COUNTY – After ending up at a Washington County animal shelter with her own litter of nursing kittens, June Bug the cat is now a foster mom for two abandoned puppies, only days after her own kittens were weaned.
June Bug was in preparation to be spayed and put up for adoption before clocking in for mama duty once more when the pups arrived at the shelter.
Her comforting warmth, let alone her milk, will give the puppies a stronger start to a healthy life.
Administrative Assistant Madison Seyfried told KFSM Channel 5 News:
“Who says cats and dogs can’t along? This is proof that’s not true.”
The shelter is now looking for (human) foster parents with bottle-feeding experience to take over for June Bug.
