Meet Pancake
Pancake may look like any other kitty in this photo, but she’s very unique! She was born with skeletal deformities and only has the use of her two back legs. She has a third leg, but her deformities extend to her elbow joint, so she cannot use it to walk, but after a successful surgery she can use it to play!! She had surgery on it on October 28th, 2014 to free it from being stuck under the skin on her side and immediately she got to start using it more and her quality of life improved overnight.
For the first week she just laid on her back and had to be fed that way because she either couldn’t or didn’t want to roll over

- Pancake’s mom got her when she was only 8 weeks old. She was the odd kitten in the litter and she was going to be put down if they couldn’t find someone to adopt her.

- Her mom’s sister quickly noticed her third leg, which was stuck under the skin of her chest, and the vet said he could operate to free it during her spay surgery. A GoFundMe account was made and the cost of surgery was reached!

- This is ‘lil baby pancake after her first bath. When she was first brought home she weighed under a pound! She was teeny-tiny!

- Here is baby Pancake illustrating her smallness by only being a bit taller than a hardcover book.

- The surgery was a big success and soon after Pancake started to use her third paw, and became much more mobile and playful.

- Nowadays Pancake still loves laying on her back but she also likes to do all sorts of normal cat things…

- APPARENTLY SHE LOVES WEARING SWEATERS AHHHH!!!

- seriously she really loves laying on her back a lot.

- But she’s also super good at standing on her hind legs, walking on hard and carpeted floors…

- jumping on beds, using a litterbox, chewing on books and attacking feet.

- Oh and being super adorable…

- and wearing shirts, too, which is somehow even cuter without the front legs!

- and boy does she love naps!
