COLVIS, CA – This is not only another animal abuse case. Luckily it is also another animal RESCUE case and that’s more important.
On Sunday, a Clovis patrol officer stopped a suspicious man behind a Walmart. Even though he first lied about his identity, the police officers were able to discovered who he really was. They found out he was on probation for drug violations and they were able to perform a probation search. Inside his backpack there was a cat bound with electrical tape around his paws and neck; he also had his nose and mouth covered with the tape.

At first sight it seemed the cat was dead but after removing the tape from his face, the cat started breathing, so he was rushed to get veterinarian care.
Luckily the cat is doing well and he won’t have any permanent damage because of this. He is being kept under observation at a vet in Clovis. He is microchipped and Clovis Animal Services are still trying to contact the owner so he can soon go home.
As for the man who did this, his name is Cody High and he’s 24 years old. He is currently in custody at Fresno County Jail and he is facing animal cruelty charges among others such as; false ID to an officer, violation of probation and possession of narcotics. His bail was set at $13,000.
