PHOENIX—Labor Day doubled as Grumpy Monday at Chase Field, where everyone’s favorite fluffy grump graced the stadium to toss the ceremonial first pitch at the Diamondbacks game.

While she didn’t appear to be particularly pleased to be there, Grumpy Cat, an Arizona native, got a tour of the clubhouse, participated in the warm up on the field and even took the time to pose for photos—apparently rubbing off a bit on Hall of Fame baseball manager Tony La Russa, who frowned for the cameras alongside his new friend.
Grumpy Cat donned her customized jersey before stepping up to the pitcher’s mound to toss the first pitch. OK, fine, she was carried up and touched the ball with her paw before one of her owners threw it.

The D-backs played hard to impress their grouchy guest, but even a 6-1 win over the San Francisco Giants wasn’t enough to win over Grumpy Cat.
