Tomorrow is International Coffee Day and the world will be celebrating with lots of, well, coffee. You’ve probably heard of many “Coffee Days” or even “National Coffee Days” and that’s probably because the world has been celebrating coffee for some time now. Now it’s just become official.
This event is intended to celebrate coffee as a beverage, to promote fair trade coffee and to raise awareness about coffee growers. You may be able to get free coffee or at least big discounts, the chance to attend some lectures, small projections and maybe even see some art exhibitions.
Coffee and art come together frequently and coffee itself can also be the canvas for some great artwork. Take for example “latte art,” which is basically just art created out of the foam and cream that tops a latte. It’s not intended to last— its beauty comes from its ephemeral nature. After you see it, you may even feel guilty for drinking your cup of joe. But you may also feel the urge of getting another. You’ll just hope the coffee is as amazing as its foam.
This selection of pictures combines two of my favorite things: coffee and cats. Enjoy!
